WhatsApp Update: Predicted Uploads Feature to Help Upload Pictures Faster

Many WhatsApp users have been struggling while uploading pictures on the app. To address this issue, the Facebook-owned WhatsApp is rolling out a new update called ‘Predicted Uploads’. Once the WhatsApp launches ‘Predicted Uploads’ feature, users will be able to upload pictures faster than present pace.

The ‘Predicted Uploads’ feature will start uploading the photos in the background as soon as you select them on your phone, assuming that you want to send them to someone ‘without any modification’. However, if a picture or pictures get edited, the previously uploaded photo will be deleted.

At present, WhatsApp doesn’t upload pictures when a user selects them. The app starts pushing the image to the receiver only after the sender taps on the ‘Send’ button. The Predicted Upload feature has been tested on iOS (v2.18.61) and Android (v2.18.156), according to WABetaInfo, a popular blog which reveals the features of WhatsApp.

The blog further says that one way to check if the feature is running on your WhatsApp might be to try and upload multiple images at the same time. If users see the upload animation while uploading the images, it’s less likely that they have received the update, it said.
